So for the last three years we’ve been living in a tiny studio apartment in Westwood for $1100 a month.
Now this worked great while I was single and working at Pandemic, but now I’m biking to Santa Monica each morning, and I’m engaged to be married this year so lets just say the studio apartment is getting a bit tight. Throw in two cats and a litterbox, and it’s even more interesting.
So… last weekend we looked around for a new place. Working at Sony Santa Monica, we were thinking Santa Monica or Venice – anywhere close to the beach. The good news is, after checking out about 5 places we found a great 1BR place with hardwood floors 9 blocks from Santa Monica beach for just $1500. A great deal. We’re moving in this weekend.
So, I’ll still be biking to work, but this time I’ll not be weaving through the 405 traffic on my way home in the evenings! I might even be alive to see my 40′s at this rate…

Hey mate. Trust all is well. Not sure if I sent a congratulatory message on your engagement, but if I didn’t… congratulations.
That’s good news re the move to Santa Monica – particularly considering the whole biking through traffic angle. I’ve always thought that motorbikes and/or pedal power in morning traffic was that one risk too far.

i’m dubious whether the red dwarf episodes will be any good, but you and i both know, i’ll watch them anyway =)
